donating a portion of the ticket sales to JASMYN and Oasis.
Founded in Septmeber of 2009, OASIS is Northeast Florida's GLBT Community Center! We are here to meet the growing educational and service needs of the community. Once we find our permanent home, we hope to provide programs that include exercise, health, addiction support, and education. We are are a Florida Not-for-Profit Organization that is actively seeking 501(c)(3) status through the IRS.
Three years.
The vision for your community center is to provide the LGBTQ+A community with a useful and much needed set of programs and services that enrich lives. Additionally, we will seek to obtain and distribute information and access to resources that create impact, change, and that moves us all forward together by insuring timely access, delivery, and accuracy. We are commited to providing a set of services within Duval County and the Northeast Florida region that become central to the lives of the community and the allies that support it.
In short, as we develop and grow our reach, it is not about our successes, but about our success in being a positive impact for you. As we evolve and grow over the next three years, obtain our permanent home, we want the sense of community to grow through individuals and for them to feel supported and engaged. You Belong Here at The GLBT Center of Northeast Florida; that has always been our motto, but more imporatantly, The GLBT Center of Northeast Florida is Centered on You; and that will always be our commitment. At every step, your growth is our growth.
That is why OASIS will work dilligently to create lasting, meaningful relationships with service and information partners, corporate sponsors, individuals, and community leaders so that as we become a central part of your life, the quality of what we provide and how it is provided is held to the standards of our four-part mission to educate, inform, improve the health of and enrich those we reach, and do it in a safe and confidential way. As we grow to fit your needs, our mission statement, along with your feedback and support will guide and shape what your community center ultimately becomes and what it is able to provide.
Our Board, Executive Director, and Staff look forward to working with the community and developing exciting new programs and offering first of their kind services. However, it cannot be done alone. It takes community involvement, it takes feedback, it takes you. . . As part of our continual growth for the future, we want you to know we welcome feedback, a good challenge, and if called for, some constructive criticism.
